Shatter effect using Cinema 4D and Photoshop

This was created using Cinema 4D, a 3D rendering tool just like the ever popluar 3DS Max, Blender and others. CINEMA 4D is a 3-D application that is popular amongst motion graphics artists, thanks to its excellent integration with compositing application pipelines, and a very artist-friendly, customizable workflow and interface. It has been used for films such as Chronicles of Narnia, Beowulf, Polar Express, Spiderman 3 and Monster House. CINEMA 4D’s intuitive interface and logical workflow make it possible for those new to 3D artistry to dive in and be productive quickly. Feedback is smooth and interactive so you can let your creativity run free.

This was a huge process and consumed a reasonable amout of time. If i had a faster processor, it would have been a quicker job because rendering takes a lot of time.. Fortunately, it doesn’t require any expertise in using the 3D software. This was my first project in Cinema 4D, and it has come out quite good, even though it is not 100% realisitc in appearance. I am planning to put the tutorial in a couple of days. This is the wallpaper of the week. (^_^)

A special thanks to media militia for the awesome tutorial…
